Thread: My 2400 Kevlacat build

    Re: My 2400 Kevlacat build

Does anyone have a suggestion for a decent marine switch suitable for a deckwash(jabsco 12v parmac 6 70psi/22lpm)

As far as I can see it draws 18amps. I currently have the narva marine pushbutton switches and it just keeps killing them! All the marine switches i can find are only 10amp rated

That sort of current you will need a relay wired in, or a big battery type switch.

    Sure do, awesome pressure though!

Battery switch next to the hose would work!

Problem solved on the deckwash switch.

Also modified bait boards to drop into vertical rod holders on the sides. Had them mounted infront of the outboards but got well and truly sick of polishing bait stains off the yammy cowls.

Also snuck out for a few CQ nannies in between the wind and rain.

Found a crack in one of my clears too... anyone know the best way to fix? Unsure if it could be stiched or if maybe glueing a piece on top might stop it tearing further?

Great nannies. To stop it tearing further take it off carefully and use a wad punch at the end of the tear to stop it until it can be repaired.

The smallest wad punch you can find. I had a similar problem once and afterwards wondered if just heating up a small tube and just pressing it into the material, it would create a slightly raised area around the circumference but never got to try it out.
Have you checked with any trimmers in your area, they maybe able to put you onto something to do an immediate and permanent repair.
Alternatively try this Gorilla clear tape in the short term on both sides.

Thanks mate, local trimmer said they would likely need to sew a patch down it but they couldn't even look until next march/april

It must be a design fault as Ive just noticed the other side is starting to crack in the same spot. It looks like the very top material strips should have been joined together. I'll try the punch and gorilla tape and see how she goes! I'll try to do it on the boat as I dont think theres any chance of getting it down without tearing it. If I get someone to hold a board outside hopefully I can punch through it. Project for the weekend

Yeah mate it doesnt look right to me that the reinforcing tape doesnt meet ..seems a no brainer that it would create a weak point...

Bit of a PITA for you there..it is difficult to remove...are they fitted into sailtrack..?
