A not so subtle reminder of how we shouldn't take risks in our cars that we wouldn't take in our boats i.e. don't push the point by getting home at a set time and risking the safety of yourself and other road users.
Could be the poor fella had some sort of medical condition that wasn't apparent and is not attributable to speed and/or fatigue.
