    Braid Vs Mono

All still keen on Braid rather than Mono or two bob each way ??.
I find Fishing Deep for grunter i prefer the Mono as well as feeeding line out for LIpper or Mackeral.
Reds might be a different story n braid seems more preferable ey.

I am running Seaguar Tatsu 16lb FC on two of my bait rods purely because winter water is so damn clear in SEQ.
Of all of the FC's I have seen and read about it is a soft almost memory free FC that behaves like a high end mono but has the almost invisible underwater characteristics of FC. It makes a fair bit of difference in the extra clear water I think.
If you want to try the Tatsu be prepared to open your wallet a fair bit more.
    Jack.

I’m a fairly simple fisho. If I am bait fishing then it’s a Alvey and mono. If I am lure fishing with spinning reel or bait caster then it’s braid.

One of the great uses for braid is the feeding of line out into a cube trail - You can certainly feed out a lot more braid than you can with mono. Awesome when a current is running . I've seen mates using twice as much lead when using mono compared against braid because of the added drag.
Bite sensitivity is unparalleled with braid & the ability to set hooks .

I'll concede that keeping hooks in is better with mono though ........ but that can be overcome with your choice of rod .

I actually wished that braid was around back in my rock fishing days

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

I only use braid on two setups, over time I have changed back to mono for everything, by the way, Flurocarbon is not invisible underwater, I have experimented with colours and FC, even posted about it here long ago, it’s all marketing hype.
