The standout (I believe) is Fishing the Wild. The latest series following the pro mack family around is great. No commercialisation and top quality production.

I'm pretty sure they were funded to do this ...... not that anything is wrong with that . Well made reality TV .

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

Yeah thats a video about that family going about their daily lives...great to see and quite insightful...and far more "real" then much of the "reality TV" that relies on fake drama and scripted narratives...

I think B2B uses stricks brother as the editor....and I guess now he is learning how to create drama and headlines...and often over editing and professional production can cripple the "raw edge" that they have had so far IMO.

Recently some of the episode headlines in bold were:

'MY BOAT SNAPPED (stuck on a remote island)

Boat snapped and camping on a remote sand cay.

WE LOST OUR BOAT (dramatic conclusion)

and after the last one "we lost out boat", with Fran almost in tears,
you can see the link to Patreon and a link to a paypal account where perhaps its just expected that in wake of such a dramatic event as "losing our boat" we can all thankfully throw some dollars to their paypal account to help them out and let Fran recover from her "worst nightmare...the "begging" part..arghh..!..
Then a week later "Great news" ,a fully kitted out 200K new platey, even right down to the Seadeck sprouting the B2B logo on the floors", just miraculously appears without even being mentioned before...lol..

Still till now I have loved their living "out of the comfort zone in remote area" theme but its going to have to have to be very interesting from now on to differentiate themselves from all the other Youtubers and their boats banging around on youtube now..

and yeah nagg they have started a new channel in light of the not so "basic" new boat ....."The Castaways"

It's pretty hard not to like that - jump on a old boat & push north for a few months - living off the sea kind of thing ....... that's the stuff I dreamed of as a kid watching the likes of Malcolm Douglas .

It's easy to be envious when you can give up your day job & do what they do ...... even better when you can make more from YouTube than you could in your day job ....... & of course getting splashed with gifts & sponsorship ........ yeh there is a bit of envy there .

100% on creating drama - specially once they started filming on the west coast

    Yeah It didnt take long..

I guess once they signed up to Patreon and started seeing dollars rolling in and a fancy new boat now its just too tempting to create a "reality show" for cllicks and views..

This episode takes the cake though...from starting out with that proper wild reef camping in the old boat to this dramatised made for TV fake staged bullshit is very dissapointing IMO..

As one of the comments suggests..maybe they should change their name to "Back to Bullshit adventures"..

Watched 30 secs of it, that was enough. They must have run out of hair dye by the time they got to the ginger haired kid.

Well they have modern cloths on so there must be a supermarket somewhere, it looked all staged to me for face book drama ,every man and his dog is making 4x4 youtube clips to make money to pay for things now it’s a job theses days.

Bruce and Juanita Davey. Legends. He grew up on his old man's trawler then drove gulf boats for KFV/Raptis for years before finally getting wildcard which he trawled for a while before converting it to Spanish Macs. The daughters run it now and he travels the East coast collecting memorabilia for a commercial fishos museum he is setting up in Cairns. I met him a couple of times in the 80's but he wouldn't remember me, I was just a decky. If you were thinking of doing a top end fishing charter these guys run them out of Gove. Juanita was properly degloved by a running line a few years back and waited a day for help to arrive. An amazing family.
