    If the TSZ70M is similar to my TZS72MH then the Penn Slammer reel won't be a good match as that is what I first did. The feet on the Slammer are higher profile and while it seems it fits when you put a bit of hurt on the fish the reel will part from the rod. I don't know why they put those chinzy reel seats on that particular series of rods as their other ranges are quite good.
    I thought I may not have secured the reel properly and had the rod replaced as it actually damaged the reel seat but on close inspection realised what the issue was. The Battle sits nicely though.

    I'm pretty settled on the Shimano Thunnus 8000; the baitrunner feature will get a lot of use in SA.
    If/when I get to WA then I might look at a Penn Slammer or Shimano
    Saragossa.

    As for a rod, the 7'
    Shimano Terez.TZS70M i think would be the better choice on a boat.

    Cant find any reels in SA so will grab one from Ottos Fishing World in NSW.
