    Garmin to Garmin

    Hi all (and moose)

    I have a garmin 953xsv with a gt 56 transducer and a 95 sv with a stuffed gt54 transducer.
Question is ...can I setup both units to run off the gt56 transducer untill I replace the gt54 transducer??
    PS.KEEP IT SIMPLE FOLKS PLEASE.
And would you replace the gt54 with a gt56?
    thanks.

Yes the 953 will run the GT56 , depending on what sort of fishing you do the 56 will have more power for side and clearvu at a greater depth where as the 54 will have better clarity in shallow water with 1200 khz

Unfortunately you cannot network the 953 with the 95SV they are 2 different software platforms which do not communicate. As a rule only GPSmaps will network. Echomaps will do some basic communication but sonar and map sharing is not achievable.

Grab a GT51 to replace the GT54. Will give you better offshore, deeper water options.
