Thread: Ratchet trailer straps

    Re: Ratchet trailer straps

    Two short ratchet straps.
One goes round the bar on the rear step and hooks onto the stem of a roller support. (One hook on the stem, the other thru the eye of that one). The other goes through the "transom handle" on the other side and does the same.
Simples. Works for me with no rubbing. 10 seconds to undo while taking the motor support off.

like this but off the bottom engine bolts
it’s how my cruisecraft explorer Haines 223 Haines v17 were all held down
will Scrap the mounted ratchet option just seemed like a simple solution.

I had these on the old boat for 10+ years and are running them again on the new one. Highly recommend them.

Tie down straps.jpgThese work well . Quick and easy . Throw it around your bottom cross member and hook it back onto itself. Top one hook to what ever you got.

as per my reply its not a gal crossbeam all the rails and crossbeams are aluminum
the only steel in the trailer is the drawbar and brackets to hold the rollers on and bolts

edit plus axle hubs springs so there is plenty of galvanic potential there already

Didn't realise it was a ally trailer, on the phone it looked like gal.

I would be very dubious of how that that strap is pulling sideways on the U bolt.
They were probably originally going to go straight down but couldn't work out where to hook the lower end of the strap so went sideways.
