Thread: Considering 5.6 Shark Cat for Mackay

Re: Considering 5.6 Shark Cat for Mackay

Not much point in that, this thread is two years old and the thread starter has got a boat long ago. The Sharkcat group is fine for rebuilds, the original builders can help with information, other than that is just owners patting each other on the back......in my opinion.

Very nice looking rig mate. I bet it’s amazing for up there. What’s the layout like inside?

So much room for the length of boat. Perfect day boat for 3-4. Or overnight for 2.

While I would love a bigger boat with more room and with a higher cruise speed it really is the ideal boat for my purpose.

its light to tow, and averages 1.7 to 1.8 k/ltr at 23 knots meaning the wife and I can afford to fish out at the reef doing up to 350km round trip.

Yes we do overnighters out at the reef . It fishes 3 comfortably but 2 is perfect

Yep its a pearler of a reef boat for a couple....like lovey mentioned its very spacious for 6.5m boat and its very bloody economical....

Higher cruise speed would be nice but if you are spending a couple of days out there its not really a big deal..
