    Sunshine Coast 28.2.21

Took my son up to Mooloolaba early Sunday morning ,the ramp was extremely busy just on dawn but surprisingly we launched within 10 minutes .There was a solid floatila of boats going out down the river in the dark and we soon realised it was going to be busy out there.
We opted to keep away from the crowd most of the morning and fished some old marks that only had the odd boat nearby and it paid off , we had 3 Spanish before 7am and picked up another 2 just before 10am before making our way back in . As expected the ramp was busy on return ,but luckily we got the boat out and tied down in a couple of minutes .
The trip back to Brisbane was basically bumper to bumper from the Sippy Downs turn off back to almost the Bribie turn off before it started moving. I’ve posted a photo of what my sounder looked like where we got our hits .
    regards

    Re: Sunshine Coast 28.2.21

I make my own ganged rigs , No set recipe , the number and size of hooks depend on the size of the baits I get during the mackerel season. Its just a std mackerel dead bait rig .
I’ve attached a photo of a rig I used last Sunday. Ie 5 x 6/0s - This rig was used with medium to large size Watsons Leaping Bonito . I also used a 4 x 6/0 gang with my Australian Bonito baits.
I mostly catch my own bait as they are pretty expensive to buy and very difficult to get fresh ones ie Australian Bonito , Watson Leaping Bonito , Stripped tuna and Frigate Mackerel are all excellent and very easy to rig to swim well .
