No. It's a new feature they build in so you can actually have a look to check the accuracy of your sonar gear

Mick no nerve struck mate. If you want to know how to strike a nerve with me just ask Rob...he's excellent at it. Or just come fishing with us 20+ times and deliberately throw the parra anchor into tangles.lol

Apparently it was MSQ's new boat - being taken on it's maiden run!

Who knows what the circumstances are behind it, but there are sure to be some red faces!

That’s what happens when you use Australian tax payer’s money to get a government boat built overseas.

Interesting design - wonder what's the commercial purpose? surprising it's for msq!
Never like seeing upturned boats :p hopefully the facts surrounded the incident will be available and the original question asked here can be answered....

Are MSQ exempt from needing rego stickers? That's got to be a fine right there.

    Almako,
The boat was on a restricted use permit so no rego required,

And yes was an MSQ new vessel on water test, I think it may have failed the stability test though, HAHA

I would think someone is going to cop it for this project,

Plenty of good boat builders in Aus, dont know why they would build overseas.

Re: 6 Metre Boat capsizes in Moreton Bay

    Probably designed by a committee.

    Hypothetically of course:

The boat operator needed a 6 metre centre console plate alloy runabout and chose the hull.
The office manager wanted a bit of shelter from the weather if they ever happened to go out.
OHS and E said they needed bunks in case they were fatigued and needed to lay down.
Equal opportunity rep needed an on-board toilet for the women who might possibly go out.
Everyone with a 6 metre boat needs a life raft of course.
    Galley for morning tea.

Don't forget the insulation in the ceiling and the aircon cos it gets hot.
