    Keppels Saturday night

Went for a quick fish Saturday night in close with one other bloke and picked up a few. Had a good night/morning with an alright mixed bag.

Blew pretty hard during the night but turned into a nice morning.

Grunter or javelin fish, which is what I went out chasing. They are brilliant eating, the others are by-catch!

    Choc,
Down Noosa way we DO NOT classify Spanish Mackeral as bycatch!!!

Gotta be happy with that. I don't know of Javelin fish so I assume they are not this far south??

    Hey Tony,
We get them in the estuaries down here - but a lot smaller. - Up to about 3kgs at most.

I'm not sure what they do down there. We get them in the creeks here but the big ones generally school up to 20km out on rubbley bottom.

They are great eating; my third favorite fish behind red emperor and trout. They freeze well too.
