Im thinking straight to the swains sunday morning early as possible, then back to the percys monday night. Hide out there for the morning and head back to claireview tuesday arvo. Thats the only option i see if the weather stays the same.

Re: Swains Trailer Boat Trash Trip

It certainly looks worse than yesterdays. Each site seems to be telling a different story. It looks to be 15-20kn north of the area we are going to and under 10kn south of it. The big issue is that it seems to be deteriorating.

If you click through Tues-Wed on the BOM Wind Chart you will see a few 15-20kn areas popping up. That would not be nice to be caught up in 180km off the coast

with the way the weather is at the moment we will see what tomorrow brings , but if it doesn't improve we might look at another location 1770 is looking good, Phill I agree that the wind isn't to bad, but those short period waves they are back breakers , will now go & check all the welds on the boat LOL

Re: Swains Trailer Boat Trash Trip

    Hello all,

Just to reaffirm. We are still in for the Swains. By our way of thinking you only need to get out there and once your there your fine. It could be blowing 20knots and 1m seas but up on the reef itself they're will be plenty of places to ride it out. I've only been to the Swains of Gladstone on a charter a few times but on those occasions we still fished dorries in 20knot winds with no problem.
If you can make the trip out - then I'd ask you to plow on with the plan.

    Brett
