Is there camping straight in front of the wrecks?? If so can you leave the boat reasonably close to shore or would it be a swim to retrieve it?
Holy Mackeral there are some people going!!!!!!!
Here is a list of those attending so far that I have managed to compile. If your not on the list or are and cant make it please let me know. I plan on Bringing over a few BBQ's and a load of snags and bread for a small cook up unless people would prefer to bring their own.

The options are the options so far......
overwhelming response for Tangalooma weather permitting
Options for Tangalooma
1)Get there by boat and sleep on your boat
2)Get there by boat and bring a tent to sleep in the camping grounds
-make sure you check out the camping fees as per Burly_GU post
3)Make a weekend of it and take the car on the barge and stay on the island.
As the weekend gets closer we can make a call on the weather and move location if required option 2 (in the event of unfavourable winds)will be Peel Island Horeshoe Bay. Beacuse of the numbers attending I urge people to be self sufficient as far as all necessities go. I will have a 6x3m shade set up with an Ausfish Banner so this will be a great place as a meeting point.
I will try to set up as practically close to the wrecks so activities will be :
-snorkelling
-fishing
-socialising
-Dolphin feeding at Jetty at night
Food and beverages will be available from Tangalooma resort all day but this place closes at 6pm to non residents.
I intend on having a shade set up from 12pm onwards on Saturday.
Lets get excited team!!!!!!
Cheers

BurleyGU will know finer details, but in the past I usually use the 2 anchor method....one deep in the front and one on the beach and boat faces towards the water. One good thing is that however you anchor at 6pm is the way you should see the water at 6am providing it doesnt blow right up. I believe you can anchore against the beach as long as we are away from the barge landing area.
Here is a link to tangalooma if you want to check out the dolphins at night

Hi Marty
I may have missed it but was there ever a boat ramp designated that everone was leaving from?
lucas
You can't book specific sites there so it'll be suck it and see. Just tried and no specific options available online, also spoke to a lady from QLD Gov and said the same no actual spots just "Totums" with Numbers?
I'm heading over on the Friday 11th regardless of weather for 2 nights with 2 or 3 others for a fish/camp and have booked a camp permit for 6 at the Wreks camp ground
Nice one Damo....your a go getter mate

Thanks for bringing this up Lucas, no there hasnt been one agreed on as many will leave from various places. I will be leaving from Whyte Island and heading out the mouth of the river. The parking there is very good and safe. I suggest we could list a few ramps and you could choose one to attend.
I am putting forward White Island Ramp (fisherman Island) for southsiders.

Whyte island is the main ramp that i use aswell. Its a longer trip to tangas i believe but a awesome ramp.
I was thinking Whyte Island Ramp, haven't used it for ages so have a few questions is there any sand there to pull the boat up on or is it still rock to the side of the ramp ???
Cheers
