Thread: 2011 Rod Building Weekend

    Re: 2011 Rod Building Weekend

Hang on guys. The rod building weekend is the reason for this thread NOT a weaving weekend. Nothing has even been discussed as you would have read. If you say you’re in make sure you mean the rod building weekend. Totally forget about the weaving weekend, when I get to it I will let everyone know. I will be speaking with Owen shortly as I will certainly need help as one person weaving will simply not be enough. So guys, don’t get your G strings in a knot, it will happen.

    I'm a w@nker, yes I am.
The cook's birthday is March not May.
If the spots don't fill I'll be there again but I would rather a newby be there before me.
This time I might learn to tuck my shirt in or take it off when epoxying.

Or do I bring the wood lathe and Stuart can show us how to do some grip shaping??
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

    I agree with Stu.
You are way better off separating stuff like weaving from general rod building.
At least when you start to get into multi-layers etc.
Trying to teach new guys stuff like prepping guides and trying to teach weaving at the same time wouldn't work.

Plus there needs to be a bunch of preparation done in order to try to teach it with any effectiveness.
    Cheers,
    Owen
