Tailor are still consistently being caught east of Swan Bay in the Pin bar but not when a northerly is blowing.
Best time has been daylight and dusk and while a drifted pillie has accounted for good numbers, a 5.5kg fish was landed on the weekend on a pillie anchored on the bottom.
Unlike rivers on the northern side of Brisbane, the Pin is not generally known for a summer run of bream but there were plenty of quality fish landed over the weekend.
Most were found in the deeper holes off the eastern end of Crusoe Island and along Kalinga Bank.
The Pine and Brisbane Rivers have a summer run of bream between November and Christmas, and reports indicate that this has started with good bream being caught around Dohles Rocks and Deepwater Bend in the Pine River and the Sunken Wall and Luggage Point in the Brisbane River.
The best technique is to have your bait right in amongst the snags, move up into shallow water as the tide rises and drop back into deeper water as the tide drops.
Best time has been after dark and the best bait has been live yabbies or gut.

The much-needed rain that has been peppering the east coast is going to make a big impact on the angling scene over the next few weeks.
Mud crabs should be one of the big improvers as they march out of their backwater drains and mangrove hiding places that are now affected by freshwater runoff.
With a few more heavy showers the saline content of the upper rivers and creeks will drop as the water is mixed with freshwater runoff.
This will force estuary species to move towards river mouths, staying in front or on the dirty water demarcation line using the slightly discoloured water to aid their ambush techniques.
Species like flathead, whiting, bream and mulloway will take advantage of conditions to gorge themselves on an easy feed.
On the freshwater scene, Somerset is “hot to trot”.
Gary Fitzgerald had a fish opposite Kirkleagh Point during the week, catching and releasing over 30 fish in a few hours.
Vertical jigs were the best technique but they would be an easy target with live shrimp.
