Well we still haven’t had much rain up Cairns way and the river systems are firing well.
A session up the top Mulgrave today saw JPs and sooties fighting for the lures, and the today the Jps were well in front , with 10 plus jungles landed and 4 sooties for a quick session of about 2 hours.
The top of the Mulgrave river is a great place for targeting these little sports fish and they provide great fun on light line in the 2 kg class ,working you hard at times around the granite boulders……Not a bad place for a dip too….

Cheers….. Poony ;D

Hi Steve, do you know if the fresh water creeks up the cape hold JP's and sooties. Was at Twin falls last weekend and there has to be fish in there. A bit of an explore leads to little gorges and holes with tons of structure. Dunno about fishing in the National Park, but the ranger should be able to give me the right info.
Cheers

Dazza, most of the rivers, creek all the way up the cape hold JP's and sooties, predominantly JP's thrive up in the wild cape regions ...
Plenty of sooties south of the Daintree....
As far as National Parks go..it's best to check as there maybe some closed areas.... on average though fishing is allowed in most of the NP's on a limited basis, such as one line per angler.

Cheers Poony
