Hi guys,

Went for a drive down the road to Innisfail with some mates and ended up getting enough time for a quick flick in the Russell. The sooties were as aggressive as ever but their size was pretty disapointing. However, late in the trip I managed to land a very welcome jp that put up a spectacular fight on 2kg tackle 8-). Heres some pics from the trip

haha yeah Shane its a bit like that sometimes but it still has a very strong appeal to me (sort of similar to drinking a whole carton of woodstocks then trying to drive around cane feilds at midnight :o). Cya very soon ;)

Great stuff, looks like a little pop'R hanging outta their gobs. Don't underestimate the power of those sooties and JP's, great fun on light tackle and surface lures. Used to do alot of fishing around there before I moved down the sunnie coast a few years ago. I was up there in winter and went back to my favourite spot, upstream from golden hole, haven't fished for 4 or 5 years and unfortunately the bigger sooties were missing and nowhere near as many JP's :( but we still got into a few.....
