Had a trip with morty, after a couple of days his apprenticeship in mackerel fishing was finished, there was some nice spotties in the schools but the boat traffic this wkend might kill them off.

Some nice fish there Rob. In that close-up shot .... what lb mono are you using? Looks like pretty thick stuff? Or is it just a photographic illusion ...

Great stuff fellas. Those are some good size spotties you got there. Mack are you using single or double hooks on the back of those slugs, and what size are the lures and the hooks. Interested, cause we lost a few last year on single hooks, what do you think is the best method??
Cheers Fritzy

Yeh guys some top chewing and sport when the spotties arrive, the next few months are going to be firing that heavy rain this wk can only help spark the food chain up.

Fritzy, none of the above to the hooks question, they were barbless trebles, safer for you and the fish, you will lose some and you will lose plenty of lures thats just how it is.

Matt, yes a tuna, plenty of them about.

Hey Rob,

how was the water quality where you got the fish??

all the fresh has dirtied the water down here on the Goldy but amazingly enough the fish were still there with most taking lures :). I am sure we are in for a top season both on fish and the Lunatics :-X

mite look like peel yesterday but not fishing like peel.
not a scale for my boat yesterday was bloodie disappointed.
few birds around lots of bait 1 small school of LT's poped up for a few seconds and that was it for the morning then as we headed home a tiny school of frigits chased a bait school for about 5 minites but that was it for the bottom of the bay :-/
