Went out off the sunny coast again on saturday. Looked at Saturday’s forecast on Friday night and conditions looked like they were going to be bearable. Left the river about 6:15 and headed out to area X (not the banks). Got out there and looked like the sea was dropping so that was good news.
Plenty of reds this time again. All unders though so no photos of them. Got busted up heaps of times on heaps of unstoppables. After the deckie burlyed the water for me we got into a nice load of maori’s. Nice to eat those ones. Didn’t get a massive haul but got a nice feed. Few pearlies, parrot, moses, a sweetie and a dreaded MILF too.

Nice day for it. In the end it glassed out at lunch.

Nice. See what happens when you outfish the skipper with a nice red... he goes and gets a new deckie!!

Those maori are beauties mate.
They are fantastic eating. One of the only reef species i have ever caught - but i don't know whether many reef fish could taste better than maori cod at that size. Great work.

fritzy:- yeah mate gottem on pillies. They love em. You know when you got one on too. They only try and run for the first few seconds after hook up then it like pulling up a wet rag on your line. Couldn't get livies out there on the weekend. Dunno where they all were. The pillies seemed to do the trick though.

TheSlyDeckie:- Yeah mate I had to take someone else out to see how they pulled the anchor in. You better watch out mate your spot is under threat. He even re-fueled the boat and paid for it, helped me wash it and clean up. Sounds like the perfect deckie to me ;D
