Fantastic fish there to your mate. That is a hard PB to better as it has set the standards a little high. :D I am a little more realistic and have my PB set at 65cm which is easy to better next time. ;) So what was it like out there? What time were you out there and what time did you get the fish? Looking at Seabreeze it would have been crap to be out there late so I have to assume you were there nice and early. Well done!

I think it was awfully decent of you to look after your deckie Steven78, and bring home a fish like that. Was this fish caught the same place as yours? What's your boat rego? I think I might tail you next time I see you ;D ;D

Well done!!

Sorry Scalem I did not go out today as I was hung over from the night before :-[ as I thourght the weather would be a bit ordinary as well. I meet Dale at home to take the pictures and I also got the phone call around 8am this morning with Dale saying how happy he was.
Scalem my rego is TV267Q it would be good to meet up with you some time.
This is Dale's moment of glory and it proves one thing and that is there are some BIG fish around the bay if you know where to look.

Top effort out there today Dale

I was about 50 m from Dale when he pulled the fish in at about 7.45 this morning. He motored straight over and said "THEIR ON.I JUST PULLED A 95 CM SNAPPER IN" He couldn't get the fish out of the ice box quick enough.

About 5 min after Dale caught his fish i was hooked up to something solid.
After a good 5 min fight i finally had some colour.Not red.Bugger.
Dirty huge catfish all 70 cm of it.

Poodroo
Early on it was a bit lumpy then it almost glassed out and stayed that way till about 1.00pm.

Cheers Dazza

Steven,

Pretty good feeling taking someone out to school them on a new way of fishing for them and actually coming up trumps with a fish like that. Well done Dale and welcome to the dark side.

Good work Steven

Thanks for all your comments yes it was a great day. It will be hard to beat this PB again considering my previous PB was 60cm. Since my mate Dave and I were put onto plastics by our fishing guru Steve (plug plug) weve enjoyed some successful trips in mud and peel. Steve also got me onto Duncan at Fish Head who hooked me up on to a few great rods and reels which are all GL2 rods geared with Daiwa Sol reels.

The gear that I caught the monster on had 16 pound braid mainline with 16 pound flurocarbon. I've mainly been using BabyBass Junior and BabyBass Fluke the conditions were overcast and the water was murky I decided to use a new product recommended by Duncan "Nuclear Chicken " by Berkely being very bright it has lots of action in the tail and it did the trick.

Just a note my Jighead was chewed to bits and my leader was frayed 3cm up from the knot. The challenge is up now boys to find the metre monster out there. DALE (WOOKIE) PLASTIC JUNKIE FOR EVER!!!

Excellent work Dale, I know you have been out there trying for the big one and now your dream has come true.
Thats one awesome fish on light gear.
Steven has put in many hours around Mud and he to has been rewarded.
Persistance pays off thats for sure.
Steven and I used some nuclear chickens around Wello on Saturday night under the full moon.
The squire seem to like them because we had hit after hit.
Even big squid could not resist.
Now its going to be a big task to better your new PB.
Cheers Brent :)
