:-? I will be travelling the Bloomfield track during a trip to FNQ in May / June. I have been told that there is a number of water crossings. Are any of these deep enough to warrant fitting a snorkel? I dropped a wheel into an almost too deep a hole doing a river crossing to Twin Falls, Kakado a year or so ago and am a bit concerned about river crossings now.

Hi MERV small creeks and steep hills, all creeks are safe to cross with out a snorkel :)

Merv,
Did the track early January. Will depend how much rain they get up that way. One crossing that maybe went 3/4 they way up the wheel on my Rodeo. Nice pebbly bottoms - easy track.

Hi
Be careful if it rains - tracks are steep and slippery. I'd be more worried about that than the creeks

Hey Merv,
Shouldn't be a problem, I have seen tour operators going over the Bloomfield in 2WD Toyota Hiaces in the dry months.
