Headed out to the usual spot of redcliffe saturday morning.Started off well with two keeper squire within an hour. Then it went quite for about an hour with hardly a touch.

So we moved out wider in about 7 meters of water.I had a little touch then another so i struck.I thought here we go a good squire then it realised it was hooked and off it took.It had all telltale signs of a snapper fight with good head knocks.About 15min later and a bit of chasing with the boat a 5ft hammerhead shark surfaced to our surprise. It was hooked just in front of the eye.Not a bad effort for 6lb braid.

Anyway we managed 3 squire and a couple of gps point to put into my new gps.

Cheers leigh

I have heard reports that they are plentiful out towards the centre of the bay. A friend was busted off numerous times before he was able to bring one along side. He reports that they fight well. Strictly a catch and release man , so am unable to report on eating qualities
