View Full Version : A Great Day Offshore

We had not been fishing for a long time so we were going out regardless of the weather.

What a fantastic surprise. No wind.

We took young Ron out. He is another member of the Bribie Island RSL Fishing Club who is becoming rather excited about fishing offshore.

We decided to troll all around Hutchies and Flinders but not a touch. We Finally found a Barracuda near Smiths and just kept on trolling. Finally a Yellow fin and then some Stripies.

A lot of work for just a few fish, especially when you return all the fish to the sea.

Great day and it felt good just to be out there.

Francooooo

Had a similar day on Friday crossed the bay at supersonic speed in Glass out conditions.
Wind picked up at about 830am but still tolerable
I have had worse trips in supposed light variable
Can't quite figure out the weather man
Catch you out there

Hey Paney,

You may wish to think about joining the club, because I have been training a lot of the guys.

I will catch up with you in the near future and organise that trip out with Plastics.

Hi Mark,

I can recognise your boat now.

Next week looks like a full moon and a day out at the Banks.

See you under water..

Well there is a lot of truth in the saying that a bad day out fishing is better than a good day at work. I hope the conditions are great when I come out with you and the fishing is even better. Stocking up on some plastics in preparation of "the day." Holidays are booked for the first two weeks in March so look out Frank oo, here I come. :)

Hi Vertico,

No Jumps at all. He just lay there until the last few meters.

We we released him he just lay upside down on the top of the water so we circled back to him.

As soon as we touched him he was off like a shot.

Must have been playing doggo!!!

Postcard pics Frank. Great to see more of the RSL guys getting a taste of some offshore action. Were you trolling skirts or hard bodies BTW?

Cheers

Hi Big_Ren,

We trolled Hard Bodies over the shallow Reefs and then switched to Skirts in the deeper water.

We tried Bibless as well as the rapala red and white.

Amazingly the Barracuda took the Pakula skirt and the tuna took the red and white.

I reckon Frankoo has it well and truely sussed, you must wake up before a trip and say to yourself " I think we are out of Sushi" and go out and get it.

What's on the menu next trip guys? The freezers might be full, so a trip like this on a glassed out day makes it all worth while doesn't it?
