Copeton Dam

Fished Copeton from dawn till 1000 this moning. Absolutely no action on hardbodies, sqiggies or spinnr baits despite the water quality being excellent.

Big irrigation releases at present, however there is a reasonable fresh in the inflows. Probably took a bad option and should have fished the uptream section of the storage.

A great morning on the water, a fish would have been a bonus.

i have never caught anything in copeton dam except for little red fin....... i rather travel a bit further to split rock dam, you always seem to get a few there!!

Yep , lots of water being let go at the moment. Once the cotton kings have their quota , they will start to move again.
You blokes should have been there before christmas.
