Managed to put some time in last week at the prospective retirement location on the Williams River.

It was majic not another bass fisherman or power boat to share the locations I fished. First attempt on the river fishing the predawn hours on the full moon resulted in zilch annd only a few little fellas once the sun rose.

Decided to try some bank fishing on the Paterson to break the drought, good looking water but no fish.

Another change of tack put the boat in at Lostock Dam just on daylight. Fished for 5 hours throwing everything from beetle spins to hardbodies including Jackalls , still no joy. Multiple fish on the sounder but absolutely no interest. On the return journey called into Seaham and put the boat in below the weir. At long last some semblance of an interest in a lure but no takers.

Getting desperate back to the Williams at Claro next day for an afternoon session. Well the Noles was #working over time 20 fish from a massive 50mm to the best four at 250.

Next arvo arent the best conditions,a nuisance breeze blowing, making my perceived casting ability far from acccurate. Rigged the el cheapo Ebay special in yella and gold and commenced casting in under the vegetation, whamo a 380 snatched the thing first cast, best Williams R bass to date. Afternoon degenerated further but managed another 5 fish up to 230.

Bloody difficult to face going back to making a living on Monday.
