;Dgday guys
i went out today with rob with his 3.9 m tinnie to the raby bay canals as he was going to teach me some stuff about soft plastics, we were half way into the day and we had only caught one moses but at about 12 oo am i got a hit on my softie and all we could see was this big silver flash and then it took off once we got it up to the side of the boat it turned out to be a tarpon. :o ;D on my first ever try with softies it was about 55cm and about 2kg on 1.8 kg line
;D ;D so now i am hooked on soft plastics

Yeh michael that tarpon made the trip, had a few close encounters as well http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm3.gif but luckily we landed it and got a few snaps. It went real hard on 4lb and didn't give up. I've heard of tarpon that size rasping through 20lb leaders so i think we were lucky fishing 4lb straight to the jighead http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm12.gif
