Some are just like that, they can turn from red to pale in seconds, ive seen quiet a few northern ones that colour go red once iced, they all fight the same ;)

I know the jacks down around the Brunswick area are a pale to brown colour.

Dave, if the northern ones were like that most of the time the tackle sales would skyrocket. Quinny, caught that jack on a direct wind alvey, with 1 handle, the 2nd broke off when it hit my knuckles :'( Is that why fly reels come with 1 handle ;D Will keep you posted, time for the f****** wind to drop.cheers Rob
