Old mate suggested I glue and screw some bread board type stuff about 30mm thick onto the transom so I don't have to keep screwing trasnducers into the hull but I'm having trouble finding some. ANy ideas in Brisbane? I live on the north west side and work on the south side naer Salisbury. Cheers!

I have found it previously at reverse garbage in the Gabba.

They get sample pieces and off cuts so if you're not chasing a full sheet they might be able to help.

The website is focused mainly on the school/craft stuff but it is worth a look.

Bread board material (Polypropylene) is not UV stable - it will craze & crack up in a pretty short period of time .

A better option ( sorry I dont know it's name) but the board that they use between a transom & outboard motor is a really good choice . Most outboard installers have the stuff .

in Underwood.
UHMW-PE is the stuff you want.
Ask for an offcut.

I used a piece of 6mm aluminium when I did mine as I had an offcut lying around.

like Dig - I went with Aluminium when I installed the TM260 as I needed to extend the bracket .

On previous boats I did use the Tivar board - from memory about $20 for a 40x40cm x 8mm piece ( I cut it & doubled it up) - worked well
