Thinking of getting a jet ski to run up and down the coastline on the Sunny Coast. Would be doing some fishing close inshore and in the rivers, but would also like to explore the Passage and Bay and other areas ect and travel some distance.

What size ski would be good to do the above ?
2 or 4 Stroke ?
Injected or Carb ?

Probably looking at older model to keep the price down a bit but will pay for a better ownership experience if the price is right for me. (under 10k)

Go for a 4 stroke, maybe a non supercharged motor for a start. I'm a Yamaha fan and there are plenty around in the price range your looking at.

Yamaha.

VX sport.

You'll get good ones for well under $10K.

Four stroke. Really good on fuel. They also have a large duckboard to strap / fit an esky to.

and for the esky hints...

Thanks for the replies.
I like the Yammy range, and they do have a the largest rear deck which I like. Probably look for a Cruiser, for some more comfort in the seat.
Seeing I have never been on a jet ski, I should probably go hire one and take for a spin to see If I like it. Hopefully I do, and I can get into it for under 10k fully fitted out.

Hope I can hire one for minimal cost, any suggestions as to who or where for a reasonable price ?

No, don't want a noisy ETEC on the back of a zego. Lol
Already have a boat, don't need another.

Thanks for the reply.

Has anyone thought of making a esky rack out of qubelok alloy ?

Very versatile stuff, easy to use.

Strain on joints and vibration might not suit it much?
