Short trip Out Last Sunday

Couldn t post up had to run back out to work but managed a trip last Sunday morning after taking wifey down for her Birthday to Montville Melany on the Thursday we returned on the Saturday and I hatched a plan to hit the water next day .
With my brother and father in tow we left the harbour around 5 am to Mongrel Northerlys and headed to some fern ground some 50 km out. Water was sloppy and we trolled around one of the close islands for nothing but the wind had started to ease so we slowly worked our way out to our destination working some bait spots along the way
No luck for livies so we finally arrived and set anchor onto a small show and fishing was slow but the oldman scored a nice trout to start with then the brother got smashed and a nice Red Rew hit the kill bin .

My turn next and I was rewarded with a nice Red Emporer and followed with a Spottie but no more of his mates were hanging around.
Couple reefies into the box spangled and Grassie and we were looking better

We moved once the wind eased a little and were rewarded with Dad scoring another nice Red Jew and some good sized cod and the sharks came quick and fast with the brother skull dragging a 10 foot hammer to the suface the way he was fighting we thought was a top cobia but no.
All and all was a good trip out and Kaypee was up North done good too

Good stuff as usual mate..
I've been playing around with a video of our trip north as I took hardly any photos coz I was more focused on the go pro this trip. Still got a bit of tweaking to do as its my first attempt..Just wish Jill put some bloody clothes on for some part of the trip!! Mind you, when she did, it was her Ausfish M&G shirt!!

What did you do to that poor nanny in the first pic? He looks like he was skull dragged from 100mtrs at lightning speed and shot through the back.

I would like to take you up on your bet JT but I spoke to Horse and he recons he will take you on he said its a red bikini red emperor bet.

The rules are you both have to wear a red bikini on the first day of fishing and the first 1 to catch a red gets to put some clothes back on. Seeing as its your back yard and you catch so many double digit reds you have to catch a double digit red and Horse only has to catch a legal red.
Hows that sound are you up for the challenge? Horse is chomping at the bit to get his bikini on and catch some reds.
