I am wanting to mount 2 sounders in this hull.

Sounder 1 - Within reach and optimal viewing when seated at the rear starboard position (smaller sounder, brand unknown at this stage)

Sounder 2 - Within vicinity of Front Cast Platform (probably my Furuno 585)

Given the pics supplied and that I will be removing the SC unit and extending the front cast platform, where should I be mounting both sounders?

And, what transducer should I be using for the 585?

I mounted mine up front of casting deck against the hull, mainly for protection against snags and stuff (sometimes I gotta go in to retrieve lures lol)

thanks.

So, when you steer the boat, do you use any sounder?

if so, where do you place this sounder?

Next time I'm up where the boat is I'll grab a pic of the location, it's basically mounted as far forward on the rail beside the rear thwart

Not sure about codes, the rail mount is meant for motorbikes, I wanted one with 2 ball mounts, so I can mount my gps on there too, and the mount for the sounder was the universal one, think they do some to suit specific sounders too, I just looked on the RAM website and found what I wanted then searched the codes through online shops. They hold really well, I also run a mount in my 4x4 for the GPS and it doesn't move at all, no matter how rough the roads are
