Hello all,

I have a Lowrance X126DF, been great for year or so, now i'm having trouble reading the bottom at rest or at speed. I've noticed the tick tick tick sound from the transducer when out of the water is barely audible. Also the pattern of ticks is not as it used to be, it's now irregular.

Question 1, should you be able to hear the transducer ticks as described ?

Question 2, Any ideas why it should have become irregular ?

Obvious things ruled out, ie haven't hit anything, haven't moved the transducer, battery is fine, and i've already thought of just buying a new tranducer.

Just hoping someone has some idea other than buying a new one. Mostly looking for a reason as oppossed to a cure, i don't want to get a new transducer then have the same thing happen.

Help appreciated

Matt

Checked transducer cable connection(Corrosion/making poor contact)?

Try your head unit on someone elses "working" transducer....rule out you head unit as culprit.

Thank you,

Will recheck connection, it looks ok but often that's not enough.

Just have to find someone with the same headunit or tranducer to rule out one or the other.

Cheers
