Hi all. My ancient trusty flush mount seems to be dying - sticking card, so I guess that it is having some fluid evap issues or something. Is there anything much you can do to them...its not worth taking to someone. If not, will any flush mount do, because its mounted on a 30 degree (roughly) angle on the dash. I need it backlit and a nice clear one, but I dont want to spend the earth either. I would have though something up to $250 would buy me a good'n

Cheers and thanks.

If you can find some glicerine at the chemist or similar maybe you could replace the fluid with that.

You might need to drill a small hole in the bottom of the compass and syringe the glicerine in, and then find a rubber plug or similar to seal the hole with but it could be that simple to get the compass running smoothly again.

Yeah I know i'm cheap.

Cheers.
