Hi All

I'm just wondering if anyone is doing their own oil changes ?

Are there any web sites etc that show / tell what is involved with both the motor & gearbox.

Cheers & Thanks in advance

Chris

Thought that was it ......... ::)

Now ..... I have read that using a Synthetic oil ( mobil 1 10W - 40) is better than the yamilube ? ..... Is anyone using it

Thanks

Certainly worth buying the factory paper service manual specific to your motor.

If it is anything like the Mercury ones it tells you everything you want to know as recommended by the manufacturer.

You'll save the price of the manual on the first service.

if it is like most of the others, you will need a very good supply of rags, or buy the special pump to pump the oil out!

Before you take the filter off, tilt the motor right up and to starboard to drain as much oil out of the filter before removal.

Tilt back and trim in so that any spilt oil that gets past the rags that you will place under filter runs to the back of the lower cowl .

Remove filter. Remember to smear a film of new oil on the filter O-ring before installation.
