What is the best way to clean & restore lustre to aluminium ???

I am going to sell my 4.2m tinny. It is an old Stessl with some/little paint on the outside.
I am wanting to clean and restore it to obtain maximum price for a trade-in.
Can anyone give me any hints/tips on doing this ??

sell privately. You will get alot more than trade in.

Use metal polish on a hard buff fitted to your grinder. It will shine better than new if you put enough elbow grease into it.

On the other hand it might just show up more dents - or if it doesn't, you won't want to sell it!

Leave it alone. Dull aluminium is honest. Clean the inside and the engine until they look new and sell it freshly serviced.
