Not me but a mate of a mate got this sunday morn about 6.30am on 14pound braid and 30pound leader using his long bream rod as he doesnt have a surf rod. He ses it took 45mins to get in and luckily another guy had a gaff. There were no bait schools and other anglers were catching mainly trevally. He was using other lures with no luck and once he changed he ses it was on every third cast. Big swell , looks like time for beach / rock fishing as the fish come closer......
Here I come!!;D

That's a top effort. Would have been great fun. Might have to head down there once this weather settles a bit and have a go. If you don't mind, what type of lures was he using?

Cheers mate

I've fished there a couple of times recently, just 'cause it's close to work, and about two weeks ago I hooked onto one 'about' the same size on a 100mm SP, right off that bottom 'shelf'. Certainly wasn't expecting it, and just sat there watching my spool start empting itself of line (10lb braid, 12lb leader). Tightened the drag up a bit, and it jumped and spat the hook......
Regardless, was a great day to start the work day....
Oh, and despite fishing with SP's, I was actually fishing with the daughter of the guy that designed the original Spanyid lures.....
