Fishing.
That's one word and about the only singular word I can think of.


No one word can describe it for me. It like saying give me the gist of the Bible or Koran in one word.
To me fishing just isn't the act of throwing a line in the water.
To me fishing is a word that covers a lot of other activities as well like building the boat to fish out of, building the rods to fish with, catching the bait to put on the hook, making the sinkers to use, going on a trip to use the boat, rods, sinkers blah, blah, blah etc etc.
I fish for lots of different things. Relaxation, good company (even if it is just me ;)), adventure of exploring and experimenting and seeing new things and places, thrill of catching something, to keep my brain active, to get myself out away from the house, therapy (I'd be nuts otherwise) and last but not least an outlet for wasting money :D
Ooh nearly forgot...might be a chance of a feed of fresh fish as well :D
