Had a good fish today with a mate behind the casino and close areas. Was using 3pound braid with 3pound vanish for leader.
Got two nice bream one was 32cm the other was 35cm. Mate dropped a very nice pan size flathead at the side of the boat. Hes spewin. ;D
Didnt have the net so it was touch and go for all fish.
Caught a few different species and other bream but they were the only keepers. It was top of tide at first , a bit quiet but once it started running out it was very active. All fish caught with squidgie wrigglers in wasaibe , flash prawn and bloodworm. The 35cm gave a few great runs under a bridge and without a net it was exciting. Top day on the water.8-)

Sounds like a top session mate, those canal bridges can fish quite well for bream and other stuff at times. Well done

2 nice fish there mate. Is that a baitcasting rod you have there though? Baitcasting rods have smaller eyes at a much narrow spacing comparred to spinning rods as they dont have to accomodate the way line loops off a spinning reel. I would have thought that your casting distance and retrieves would be effected? That being said, it must be working ok...you have the proof in both hands in that pic.

yes it is a baitcaster rod. I had one given to me at christmas but not my style. With a little shimano2500 reel I have no problem with distance. I feel that my action is increased with my tiny lifts and hops because of the way the baitcaster is stiff. I know this sounds strange but like you said it is working for me.
