Wire for lures

I'm looking for stainless? wire to use for making lead slugs for the next mackarel season.
I've bought a mould but I cant find a source of wire. The single strand game wire isn't thick enough and the only thing I can think of that may do the job is stainless welding wire.

Anyone have any ideas of what to use and where to buy it.

Yes mate, the stainless welding wire will do the job quite well and you can find it at most hardwear stores.
