Silver Perch on the Menu

The other day i had the opportunity to attend a restaurant due to work.

In the fish tank were 4 x about 36 cm Silver Perch (not looking to happy) and while i asked the manager what type of fish they were he never indicated they were Silver Perch ....... of course i could hardly understand the asian accent.

With all the changes in the fishery over the years can some one tell me are Silver Perch farmed commercially for the restaurant trade.

Silver Perch, Barcoo Grunter (called Jade Perch by Aquaculturists) & Barra are all farmed extensively for the resuarant trade.
