Hi Matt,
The 1/4 oz would be the most popular size in the hotlips range, it is stated an the packet that they dive to 15' to 17' but it realy depends on line used and if it is a straight lip trolling model or a standard curved lip model. On bionic braid with a trolling model we often have the lure hitting bottom in 21' of water. The great thing about the hotlips is you can heat the bib with a lighter and straighten or bend the bib to suit your fishing prefferance, straight for trolling or curved for casting or you can turn the side wings up to give the lure a different action. They are a great lure.
Cheers.

Thanks, the bib has a bit of a curve/scoop, and the wing things. I didnt know there were 2 types of bib. Looks like Im Trolling the casting one. I only seem to use Aussie lures for my trolling, I found the Hotlips while on a mission with the TackleBack, thats why I dont have the packet. As long as it gets past 15ft Im happy, It was my fave colour too,, Purple http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm27.gif

Fluoro green has worked well for me, even caught a 3lb-ish Mary River Cod - my one and only cod - off a long cast in Moogerah. Crummy pic attached - hopefully! They cast like bullets. I love 'em! Too good to troll with http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm1.gif
