Hi fellas,
As I said before I will be visiting the Mackay area quite alot now. Last time I found a creek west of mackay and hooked up to alot of sooty's as well as a few Saratoga's. Would there be a chance of me hooking into yelowbelly in this area.
The river is near Nebo (west of Mackay).
Any response would be much appreciated thanks fellas.

Not totally sure of the catchment there without looking at the maps. (It's been too long)
Are you talking about Funnel/Connors/Isaac/MacKenzie etc that are part of the Fitzroy? if so you're a show, there's Yellas in there for sure. DPI introduced sooties into Funnel yonks ago now & they're spreading fast, probably to the detriment of the native yellas, which seem much rearer now than when I was a sprat.

Cheers,

Fitzy..

If its east of the range, it would be unlikely to have yellows there.

We have caught a few Yellowbelly around the Lotus Ck area and one from Funnell Ck which has a good population of Sooties to thin em out. Both these creeks eventually find their way to the Fitzroy.

They could be around the Nebo area if your getting some Saratoga but they are probably kept a close secret by the locals :-X

All the best with it

Neil :)
