Freshwater, the best bait to use is carp, the best bait in saltwater is fish frames.

Hi Shrimpy,

We use one of those collapsible traps with a small can of cat food with holes pierced in the top. Works very well :)

Good luck

Cant answer as to fresh water but near gaurantee you Roo or even better still "Shark meat"for salt water.
used to dilly for prawns in Gladstone and the Dillies with shark bait always outdid the Roo bait.

hey guys
at the moment i have one of those collapsible prawn traps and set it very close to davies park in the brisbane river, i have caught 6 prawns so far but lately the tide has really picked up and is getting very rough so when i out it in it justs turns around and instead of being parallel to the pier, jetty is just turns so the hole is parallel to the pier. Is there a trick i dont know and does it have to be on the river bed to work?
Also for catching them in freshwater (brisbane river) what type of bait thanks guys!
