Hi how is everyone doin ?

I finally recieved delivery of the NEW Abu Garcia 3600 Eon pro.

This thing is supposed to be the latest and greatest real on the market . With 11 ball Bearings and a price tag that will give most fishermans wives a coronary, it's a good thing that it will spin in free spool for about 2 1/2 mins.

I just wanted to know whether any body had layed their hands on one yet and what they thought ?

This is a real for the really serious or the really silly I'm not sure yet!

Tip.
Fish hard and be good to your gear!

Reckon I could be in both those categories. Gotta have a look at it though.

Hey Jack picked up a silver Morrum and a 5600C4 for $220. Probably pick it up this week. Just needs to spool it up with some 30lb braid and practise, practise, practise - cause I ain't playin guide again - must be your turn. ;D ;D

All the best

I've always wonder what the point of 2 1/2 mins of spin time is. http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm3.gif Be quite handy if you could cast hard enough to keep the lure in the air that long. Otherise its a bit pointless, you've just got to do the braking with your thumb or the tensions knobs anyway. Also the heavier the spool the long it spins (momentum), but the harder it is casting lighter lures. http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm20.gif

Hope it goes great for you though, they look like a good reel. http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm1.gif

The spool on this thing is actually really quite light it's just the fact that the thing is so well put together that it spins for so long .
We tested it's casting and it will cast a 1/4 ounce plug upto about 50 metres. I've never had anything in my hands that casts that well before.
It's true that 2 1/2 mins is pointless but it does allow you to cast any given lure as far as physically possible because your not having to worry about the spool slowing down before the lures mometum stops pulling line out.
It does take a litle more care to cast it really far but you can cast 40 metres so much easier than with anything else.

Gotta go fish ...........Shep 8)

Thats good to hear it casts so well. A friend has the an eon and it looked pretty good. The more good gear we have to choose from the better. http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm1.gif

I'm not to sure about the aesthetics of this reel, all the plastic and rubber. I'm deffinatly a heavy metal man, I'd get a 2600 or a 1800 well before I looked at one of these.

2 1/2mins = birds nests to the max!!!!!!!

They are bad enough with my old 5500c3 2 speed.

Had a cast with it on the weekend - pretty impressive. Couldn't justify the price tag though.

Mick - Mr. Miagi would say "be at one with your gear". http://www.ausfish.com.au/chat/images/smilies/cwm27.gif
