22/09/2007 Saturday

Left Dolls Rocks boat ramp at about 8.30pm for maiden voyage. Stuck our nose out of the Pine river into Moreton Bay. Turned and headed up to the Bruce Highway bridge over the south pine river. Brought her home in rainy thundery conditions. Not the easiest way to drive a new boat onto a trailer for the first time.

POB:Simo, Jack and Myself

Total running time: 1.5hr

23/09/2007 Sunday

Departed the boat ramp at Balimba into the Brisbane river and headed up river to the centenery highway bridge. Had a picnic lunch with Karen, Jack, Emilee and Spencer. After lunch headed back to the boat ramp. Washed the boat at CSS training rooms in Kingtel place.

Total running time: 2hrs

27/09/2007 Thursday

Had the guys at Avante Marine install the anchore winch

01/10/2007 Monday

Picked up the boat from Avantee Marine and installed the new anchore rope. Then travelled to Maroochydore and headed out to the Hards. Sloppy conditions made for a slow trip out. Fished until dark with only one pearly to show for the effort.

POB:Simo, Jack and myself

Total running time: 4hrs

14/10/2007 Sunday

Left scarbrough boat ramp and headed to Tangalooma. Winds where light but the bay was still a little sloppy. Took my time to get there as i had Karen, Jack, Emilee, Spencer and Oliver onboard. None where but fans of the sloppy conditions. Once at tangalooma anchored 30m outside the southern wreck. Conditions here where alot calmer and a picnic lunch was served by Karen. After lunch I took Spencer for a Swim and Jack and Emilee tentively explored the wreck with their new snorkling equipment. Pulled up stumps and headed back to scarbrough boat ramp at about 3.30pm. there was a problem with the new anchore line. It was getting twisted up the the winch release clutch was not functioning correctly.

Total running time:2.5 hrs

xx/10/2007

Had the clutch plate replaced on the anchore winch.

xx/10/2007 Saturday

Took the boat out with Kristian and feed out all the achore rope to untwist it. used the achore winch to wind it all back in. Didn't get an opertunity to test it.

Total running time: 1 hr

14/11/2007 Wednesday

Come home from work and took Karen, Emilee and Spencer to Mud Island. Flicked a plastic around for a little while with no success. Come home in the dark. Karen not a big fan of coming home on the dark. Emilee was riding in the cabin on the way home and started to feel sick.

Total running time: 2 hrs

15/12/2007 Saturday

Left Maroochy boat ramp at about 9.45am and arrived at the hards at about 11.15am. There was a little bit of swell and not much chop which made for a plesant trip out. Had a steady flow of fish including pearlies, tusk fish, squire and a dolphin fish. Bagged on the squire/snapper at about 7pm and decided to pull up stumps and head for home.

arrived back to maroochydore boat ramp at 8.45pm. Filleted all the fish at the potoon before heading back to Brisbane. Used 73 ltrs of fuel . Cost $102.00 Went to the usual hards mark. Was using berley pallets with a new berley despencer. Very effective. Was also using ultrabite on my bates. Seemed to be doing the trick.
POB:Simo and myself
Final score
Squire/Snapper = 10
Pearl pearch = 4
Tusk fish = 1
Dolphin = 1

Total running time: 4hrs

22/12/2007 Saturday

Kristian and I put at Scarbrough boat ramp at 5.30am and traveled to Mud Island to flick a few SP's over Darkies hole. Picked up a couple of undersized fish. At 7.30am left Mud and travelled up to Spitfre Channel to try the palagic action. Chased flocks of birds around for a while with only one school mackeral to show for it. Started back to the boat ramp at 11.30am

Final Score

School Mackeral = 1 (Made for a nice lunch)

Total running time:2.5hrs

Fuel:60ltrs

27/12/2007

Put in at the Bilimba boat ramp for a trip up the Brisbane River. POB Jack, Dad and my Grandfather. By all reports everyone had a good time. Had a little trouble getting the boat onto the tailor and it was parked along side the pontoons. All future extractions from that ramp I will attempt to have the trailor park on the side away from the pontoon if possible.

Total Running time: 2hrs

Fuel:50ltrs (approx)

2/1/2008 Wednesday

Put in at the Deep water bend boat ramp. A nice ramp but the pontoon was a little crowded with ski boats and jet ski's. Took Jack and his friend Brandon fishing at the hole near the Gympie Rd Bridge. Used heaps of bearly with no success. It was a good opertunity for me to gang a heap of tru-turn hooks.

Total running time:1hr

3/1/2008 Thursday

Towed the boat to Coffs harbour. Weather picked up and didn't get out at all. had a problem due to the high amount of rainfall it was causing the short across some of the pins on the trailor plug and the breaks were activating. Disconnected the breaks just the other side of tweed on the way down. Because the rain had stopped by the time we were returning the breaks functioned perfectly.

8/1/2008 Tuesday

Put in at the Bilimba boat ramp for a trip up the Brisbane River. POB Unlce Clive, Uncle Steven, Aunty Janice and myself. Nice little run. Picked up a plastic bag near the "Riverside" building. It had a massie impact on the way the boat moved. Once the leg was lifted it drifted away. Want un the river and had a few bears and nibilies. By all reports, everyone had a great time. When I washed the boat, I must have got the trailor plug wet and the breaks played up a little between the car wash and home. By the time I got home the hubs had got hot enough to pop their caps and spit alot of their grease.

Total running time:2.5hrs

Fuel:70ltrs

13/1/2008 Sunday

re-greased the trailor hubs

17/1/2008 Thursday

Drive the boat down to Avantee Marine for the boats first 20hr service. I had the radio replaced under warranty because there was a crack in the screen of the original supplied one. I also had John Guiver from Muir winchs have a look at the anchor winch. He didn't replace the clutch washer but did replace the leaking case screw. I will keep an eye on it.

19/1/2008 Saturday

Launched the boat at the Scarbrough boat ramp with the intention of chasing pallagics in the bay (Macki tuna and spotty and schooly mackeral). The wind was blowing between 15-20kts and the bay was like a washing machine. Once over the spitfire channel there was no sign of birds to chase down so flicked slugs at a few channel markers. No joy there so traweled our way to Tangalooma and tried around the wrecks with even less success. Kristian was out in his boat today and he could here me but I couldn't here him.

POB: Simo, Trevor and myself

Total running time:3hrs

Fuel:60ltrs (Used less fuel because of the lower speeds)

20/1/2008 Sunday

Took Mum and Dad with Karen and the Kids to Tangalooma for a BBQ lunch. With the 7 of us aboard the boat really struggled to get up on the plane. Once on the plane all was good. Anchord up between the wrecks and the shore. Kids went snorkling and exploring over the wrecks while I used my little BBQ to cook up some sausages for a hot dog lunch. BBQ worked a treat...I will be doing that again. Took Spencer for a swim and he, as usual, loved it. Left for home at about 3pm. A good day was had by all.

Total running time: 2hrs

Fuel:45ltrs
