    Gidday Dale

Have had the Dunbier for about 5 years now, have treated it with Tectly since new.

Tows well, no real rust signs, drive off and on, no complaints except the standard Dura tyres, which are sh%t.

Don't know and doubt that they are the best, but ok with me.

    Cheers

I would consider a custom belco. They will make what ever you want. I'm currently getting a heavy duty tandem made for a 6m plate with a few extras on it and they seem to be reasonably priced.

I would have to say the Duniber is the pick of them i have had 2 and they have been faultless and they have by far and away the best back up etc. Regards Mark

Have put a heap of different trailers under boats during my years at Haines Hunter and done a heap of towing and I don't think you can beat a Mackay. There not cheap but very well made.

I do, & they are a great trailer. Bought mine a year ago, they now have better quality LED's than what mine has. Done a few small mods to mine to make it better, but otherwise all is good.

Had a dunbier with my previous boat, was in great shape after 4 yrs too. One before was a Sea-Link, it too was a good trailer.
    cheers

    G'day,

Take a long hard look at the BELCO open chanel trailers. That's what DPI Fisheries are running under their new patrol boats.

i f%^king hate my dumbier! i wouldnt give ya a cold pie for another one.

belco would be my pic, on garys advice i'd have to look closely at an oceananic, i've never seen one in the flesh before.

Re: Help.....Best 6m tandem axle trailer

I had an Oceanic which was good, and now have a redco under the tinnie, and a Mackay under the Seafarer and they are good also.

I have to give the Mackay extra kudos but, because it's 10yr old but shows very little of it's age. There are a couple of the white patches that do form on the galvinising but I've seen that happening on new trailers at a dealers yard.

So I reckon the best is Mackay

    Hi Dale

I have a near new Redco RE200 under my old HH560 - perfect fit

Best piece of advice I got when shopping around was make sure it will fit the hull , set it up properly (THIS IS A MUST) & fine tune /check all parts /bolts a few months after & if the budget will allow, go heavier than reccommended trailer specs and yes the Tectyl treatment before salt immersion is the go - know a trailer guy at Narangba who can do this with the right equipment if u PM me

A good fitting trailer that tows well is a pleasure but one that doesn't is a real pain in the ar$e

Mackay seem to have the name but you pay for that quality. I am very dissappointed in the gal on my Dunbier and all of the other Dunbier ones I have been looking at since. My next trailer will definately be some form of C or I channel type one, probably in alloy for weight reasons. I think as far as galvanizing them goes, they don't build em like they used to.
