Re: Rectfier for 30hp Mercury

Hi,
I had one fitted to my Mariner 30hp and it cost me about $160, i thought it was a bit dear but it works a treat, i've had my boat for 16months and i've never had an issue with my battery not running my accesories. I reckon go the proper one unless you have some luck with dick sniff, maybe try a auto electrician.
Cheers Fozzy.

Re: Rectfier for 30hp Mercury

Provided you have the charging coils on the stator under the flyweel (quite likely) then a $4.95 35A bridge rectifier from Dick Smith will do the trick. Will be fine without a regulator.

2 stator wires to the AC input of the rectifier. Ground the earth pin under the bolt that holds the reccy to the engine and run a lead from the pos terminal to the battery.

Fitted heaps of these.

Cheers
