best non-slip sandals ?

I've always worn dunlop volley sandshoes which have been great, except my missus reckons they stink. Need to buy something a bit more purpose built that wont slip on the ramp and that don't get up her nose. Anybody got any ideas?

There are a few solutions.

1. There is a shoe spray made by "Scholl" (I think) that if used regulary stops the stink (If you like a particular type of shoes might be the best idea).

2. Check if you can get any boat shoes (I have a pair of CAT's marine and they are waterproof and have a special non slip sole) I think a couple of other companies make them as well.

3. Any of the shoes with industrial type non slip sole (oil and acid proof). Some of the companies that started in industrial footwear now moved into casual shoes but still use the same sole design (DrMartens, CAT...)

Neoprene dive boots are good.

Saw some Rock fishing boots with a felt type sole about 3/4 inch thick.The bloke who wore them swore they were much stickier than the ones with cleats built in, and that they stick to anything. FWIW

Thanks guys - I'm thinking some sort of non-leather sandals so they dry quicker after launch/retrieve when I usually wet my feet, and because the air can get at them better

rebel sport & others sell "Crocs" - you see some of the guys in the bass/bream tour wearing them.

they are about $50 and a plastic/rubber no-slip clog type sandal now being preferred by many in the health & food industry - they are comfortable, waterproof, can be bleached & generally mistreated, they float too & come in 15 fashion conscious colours to suit the modern fisho #

the heel strap can be pivoted fully forward & out of the road to make them simply a slip-on if desired


personally on the stones when fishing surf platforms I use O'Neil surfing boots. These have a seperate "pocket" for your big toe & provide remarkable grip on slippery rocks - they leave cleats for dead.



for just walking the ramp though beacause they are a snug fit they would be arkward to be taking off & on

those sandals don['t look the comfiest. I"d go the neoprene booties with hard soul

Those "crocs'are very comfortable as they have a very soft & thick sole. A lot of dive industry people are wearing them as dive boots are not great for your feet all day. I think the Fuscia would work on Flatties pretty well

On holidays in Kiama just now. Went to Rebel Sports in Shellharbour today and got myself a pair of the Navy Blue Crocs.


They are very soft and feel comfortable - maybe they make the feet sweat a bit more than normal - time will tell.

I'll throw these fellas on where ever i go.. TEVA'S
not the easiest name to spit out, but they have awesome grip, non-marking sole, feel comfortable and very strong.
Throw Teva into google and see the range available it's huge.
Most outdoors shops stock them like mountain designs and k2 extreme!
