Banks 11-9-04

Fished the Banks yesterday ,left the ramp at Mooloolaba at
5AM .
Started fishing in the middle , then caught up with some of the other AusFish boys , Reel-Job ( Lou ),SeaSaw ( Mark ),
and Dale Price .fishing bit further down south .
I'm pretty sure that 620 SF ( Luke ) was also out there .

As reported by the other guys the trip out was good , just a bit of lazy swell . Averaging about 20 Knots all the way .
The trip home at 11.30 was even better at 20-25 knots .
Didn't got a lot of fish , but still ended up with a reasonable feed. With 2 of us fishing ended up with 6 Parrot ( Tuskies ),
a good Red Throat & Gold Spot Wrass as well as a few other bits and pieces .
Probably one of the best fish I hooked was a Red Emperor ,pity he was only 48cm , but as per the new min length of 55cm he was released to be caught another day . [smiley=bigcry.gif]
I'll try & post a couple of photo's .( Sorry Lou the ones I took of Reel-Job were out of focus or too far away )
The first one was our best fish taken by my deckie ( John ) a Parrot / Tuskie that went 3-3/4 Kg.

Another boat I know was fishing off Calounda on one of the close reef's . He only started fishing at 10.30 but had 7 Mackeral on board by 12.30 when we were leaving . He said they were a mix of Spotties & Schoolies / but no refies on board .

good to sea u did allright pete, i will admit i was a little homesick not being in my favourite girl ( searaider ) but the gull looked after me.
