Bramble sunday
Went out for a 2 boat reef trip on sunday. There was absolutely no run in the tide, so wasn't expecting a great deal of fish. That theory was blown out the window somewhat, with 21 trout between four of us, and various other reef species thrown in. The weather glassed out by the end of the day to make it one to remember.
Don't seem to be able to post pics...oh well...

Re: Bramble sunday
Love Bramble when it fires. The lagoon is awesome to dive though not to pretty to look at. Usually full of trout and plenty of white tip reefies. Just interested Leo did you guys catch heaps of red throat emperor that were just undersize?

Re: Bramble sunday
No redthroat at all. Previous few trips have caught 1-2 redthroat but all big ones. We also went to Trunk, but was down to slabs of some big ugly sweetlip that someone speared as bait so caught nothing at all there.
Nice day.

Re: Bramble sunday
I took my 4.3m tinny, along with another 6m boat. The rest of the boys were happy to let me power along, while they rose in 6m luxury.

Re: Bramble sunday
They are not actually the wrasse that most call bluebone, but a parrotfish (these guys have white bones). Similar type of fish, and good on the chew, but don't take baits. The spearo's got the parrots (I had a bit of coral on my hook once, but no parrotfish decided to eat it).
